In which we’re answering the most FA of the Qs

I’m not even attributing this one to a particular reader because this question gets asked a LOT–and has been asked since THE DARK ENQUIRY came out: when is the next full-length Julia Grey novel being published?
The answer is: I haven’t the faintest. Not satisfactory, I know! My publisher wants more stand alones at present, and so that’s what I’m writing. We’re continuing Julia and Nicholas’ story via the digital novellas–and the story IS continuing, so if you’re not reading them, you might miss a few interesting things…

This doesn’t mean that my publisher will never ask for another Julia book. It simply means that for the next two releases, we are committed to stand alones. After that, who knows! But I can promise you, as soon as *I* know, it will be announced here and via newsletter.

(The other question that comes almost as frequently is whether the digital novellas will be published in print form. The answer to that one is: hopefully! My publisher has said they would like to do a print version when all four Julia novellas have been released, BUT what they would like to do is never official until it’s in writing, so at this point it’s just a project we would all be happy to see through to the end. Fingers are crossed, and again, as soon as I know, you will!)

Oh, pooh! Tell your publisher that your fans want a full-length novel of Julia and Brisbane….until then I’l settle for the novellas…sigh…

    Hey Ms. Raybourne
LOVE the Julia/Brisbane novels – my daughter is a half-Roma young woman who absolutely adores and relates to Brisbane – as you probably know, there are very few well-written Roma characters so Brisbane is her favourite, naturally. I wonder if your publisher is aware of how much your readers love these characters! Thanks for these wonderful novels. We read everything you write but will be anxiously awaiting the next Julia/Brisbane novel.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comments, Sandra. I always enjoy the time I spend with my Roma characters, and to have someone familiar with that culture connecting with what I write means a great deal. Please give your daughter my best!

I just want to second (third?) the comments above: I hope that Harlequin/MIRA knows how much enthusiasm there is out here for another full-length (and printed!) Julia Grey novel. The novellas are lovely and I’m so glad you’re writing them but, simply by being abbreviated short-form works, they feel insubstantial and just aren’t filling the Julia/Brisbane sized hole in my literary heart. (I hope this doesn’t sound like too much of a complaint–I will happily devour anything you put out!) Perhaps the best thing would be for those who are yearning for more Julia and Brisbane to contact Harlequin/MIRA directly so that they know that the demand is there?

I agree…I would also love another full length story! This is the first I’ve heard of the digital novellas…how do I find/read them?

    1. Claudine says:

      Hi Jennifer,
You can find them on Search for her novellas. They are priced at $1.99 for a digital download to your Kindle. Also, check with your local library too. Mine has digital downloads that check out like a book. You can read them on any digital device or a PC.
