In which I am Williged!

I have made no secret of my love for Lauren Willig–she’s a doll. No, seriously. She’s petite and cute and you could probably pop her in your pocket and carry her around. She’s also graciously invited me to be interviewed on her blog and we’re giving away a book! Yep, if you’ve tried all the other giveaways to win a signed copy of A SPEAR OF SUMMER GRASS and haven’t won, you have another chance. (BTW, I noticed the post shows SPEAR being published on May 30–the date is actually APRIL 30. As in NEXT WEEK, chickens!)

Now, before you pop over there to read the Q&A, I need to clarify one of the responses. Lauren asked if Delilah Drummond, the heroine of A SPEAR OF SUMMER GRASS, will be making an appearance in CITY OF JASMINE, my 2014 release. I said no, but while Delilah and Ryder aren’t actually in COJ, the novels are connected and the main characters are friends of theirs.

Also, been getting some queries about the Julia Grey series–here’s the skinny: right now the novels are on hold indefinitely. We are pubbing a digital novella each fall that will reveal things you didn’t know AND carry Nicholas and Julia’s story forward, so lots of good stuff still to come! There is a tentative hope that when the last novella is pubbed in autumn of 2015, a print collection of the four novellas will appear. What that means is that lots of us–me, my agent, my publisher–all like this idea and want it to happen. But that’s a loooong way down the road and who knows what will happen between now and then. Lots of factors will come into play, and when I know something definite, I’ll holler.

Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that the Julia Grey series is on hold. I’m really more of a mystery fan than a romance fan (though I do like a bit of romance thrown in…what girl doesn’t?). For me the JG series is that nice blend of historical mystery with just enough romance for the feel-good factor. I guess the novellas will just have to do until a new novel, hopefully, comes along. Meanwhile, I imagine this opportunity you have to stretch creatively with new characters, new eras must be wonderful. While I miss Julia and Nicholas, I’m very happy for you and your success. Oh, and your blog always brightens my day when I get the chance to pop over. Thank you. 🙂

I don’t know how to get the digital novella when it comes out, but I will investigate that. I am sorry to hear no more books about julia and brisbane, because I am a new fan.
    Good luck to you.

I have loved the Lady Julia Grey series from its start and am sad that the series is on hold and that everything for a time will be digital (which I am not). I look forward (with hope) to the print version of the novellas in 2015.
