In which I'm sharing things I am enjoying
Hope you're having a good week, my darlings! Mine is busy-busy getting ready for the literary festival in Dahlonega this weekend. I am really looking forward to it. The event organizer has been just delightful (Hi, Carol!) and the weather is supposed to be great. I also get to see several friends who are usually scattered around the country, so I'm tickled PINK that we'll be in the same place at the same time.
So, onto things I'm enjoying.
*Budget Bytes. New food blog I found that looks yummy. I have the baked pumpkin pie oatmeal in the oven right now and am planning on making chicken taco bowls on Wednesday. If you try something from the site, be sure to let me know how it turns out!
*"Once Upon a Time." The only new show I'm watching this fall. It's on ABC on Sunday evenings. I had middling expectations and I'm completely sucked in. If you haven't watched it yet, they're three episodes in which you can watch on the ABC site. It reminds me a wee bit of "The 10th Kingdom" from years ago, but it's a little darker. Robert Carlyle is in it which is reason enough to watch, but it also features a heartbreakingly vulnerable Ginnifer Goodwin, a truly charming prince, and Jennifer Morrison who played Kirk's mother in the latest "Star Trek" film. (Was I the only one who cried when her husband blew up?)
*"Bonjour, girl!" If you loved "Beauty and the Beast" you might enjoy this fan video of a reimagined opening to the film. There's a wee bit of profanity there, so be advised.
*The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt. By Caroline Preston. Picked this up yesterday in the bookstore and can't wait until I have time to dive in. It looks charming and original.
What about you, chickens? What are YOU enjoying?

I was actually really glad to
I was actually really glad to see someone else a) knows about 10th Kingdom and b) also felt that 'Once Upon a Time' had a similar vibe to it
Enjoying things.
Let me jump on the Once Upon A Time bandwagon too - just watched the 3rd episode last night (DVR queue). Good stuff. Lana Parrilla's queen/mayor character is one good villain! Can't wait to see the next episode's take on Cinderella.
I'm enjoying my space right now - My mother in law moved in to her own apartment after living with my husband and I since last Christmas. She's really a kind lady and not a bad housemate, but I'm glad to have the house back.
Also enjoying Foster the People's Torches album. And the reissue of U2's Achtung Baby. Can't believe it's been 20 years... Bono and company still rock!
Deanna, I so wish I could go to the Dahlonega event to meet you in person - it's in my own state for pete's sake! But we're going out of town... boo.
So sorry you can't make it, Emily!
So close and yet so far...
Once Upon a Time is great,
Once Upon a Time is great, but I was a LOST fan. Also Grimm, another fairy tale show.
All About the Fairy Tales
I too am LOVING Once Upon a Time! Jennifer Morrison incredible and the dynamic between her character and Regina/Evil Queen is just amazing. Their scenes steal the show. Also this week I have jumped straight into the new Gregory Maguire "Out of Oz" and am absolutely loving it. It's the final "Wicked" volume and it's just amazing.
Fairy Tales Come To Life
I kept hearing the buzz for Once Upon of Time, but like you, I didn't expect much. I had never gotten into Lost and it has the same creative team. However, when I watched the show, it was actually quite good. Price Charming lived up to his name.
Yay, links!
I LOVE Once Upon a Time. I didn't have high expectations, but I have been highly amused and entertained by the series. Everyone in it is SO good. The stories are well told. (Should that have a hyphen? Gah, I don't know...)
Aside from that, I am enjoying Florence + the Machine's new single, Shake It Out. It's brilliant.
I am reading about three different books at the same time, one of which is a comic version of The Last Unicorn (it is GORGEOUS). I've never read more than one book at once, but it's a nice change.
It is hot chocolate weather, so I've gotten some dark chocolate hot chocolate -- and marshmallows. Perfect thing on a chilly night.
Fun post!
