In which you might wonder what Valerius March looks like

Wonder no more, my dears. Charming reader Doris, who has shared her talents with her portrait of Brisbane, has come through again, creating a portrait of Valerius March, erstwhile physician and younger brother to Julia Grey. You can find his image here. I adore his March green eyes and the suggestion of an overbite, which I think makes him look earnest. Doris has also very kindly provided wallpaper of the image, in 1600x1200, 1280x1024, 1152x864, and 1024x768. Doris would be very pleased for you to make use of these images for your own personal enjoyment, but they are not for distribution.

Seeing this image of Valerius, I wonder which of the March brothers is your favorite so far? Julia claims her own favorite is Benedick, of whom we have seen very little--there was a quick reference to him in Silent in the Sanctuary. But we have gotten to know Valerius, Lysander, Bellmont, and Plum rather well. Which would you rather have as a sibling?

I love the picture! Is there a way we can search your old posts? I miss being able to do that. I'd like to see Brisbane's picture again and any other pictures Doris has done for you.

Unfortunately we don't have a search function right now, but there will be changes afoot in the blog in the coming months, and I will put that on the wish list!

That is beautiful. I did not know if I wanted to look at it, since I hold my visions of your characters close, but it is a great likeness to what I see as well. He looks like a younger brother. Well done

As I only recently discovered your books and your blog, I missed the Brisbane portrait. Would LOVE to see that! Valerius seems to have the most promise. Besides, Lady Julia herself said he was the best of her brothers!

Love the picture! Thanks so much for sharing the link. Her Brisbane has been my desktop wallpaper since you first shared that, but I might have to change it now.

Well done. I would like to see Plum in some of his finery, actually.

Love the portrait of Val! She's so talented.

Plum. No question. I fell in love with him in SILENT IN THE SANCTUARY. That scene when he leaves the sketchbook with Julia...wrings my heart out every time.

Angie and Anon, you'll be happy to know Plum is back in a major way in Dark Road to Darjeeling!

As one who is partial to birds, and who would love to have a talking raven, Val has to be my favorite.

I'm quite partial to Val myself as favorite brother. He's so earnest and has a heartwarming quality. I am pleased to find that this particular creation of him fits quite well with what I had pictured of him in my mind. Sorry, but the Brisbane portrait, while handsome and wonderful, just didn't meld with the full lipped, tumbled haired Roma I'd pictured. But Val---Bravo!!

I would love to hang out with Plum. To see his colourful outfits in person would be just ducky! I'm sure he'd frustrate me as a brother, though. Being a science geek I'd much rather have Val as a brother -- he'd definitely make family get-togethers more bearable.

I've always imagined Michael Fassbender as Nicholas Brisbane if you've seen him in Hex then you can see he has that dark almost gypsy look about him. Can't wait to see him as Edward Rochester in Jane Eyre. And Katie McGrath from Merlin as Julia March - she has amazing green eyes. But I like the potrait of Valerius March too.
