In which I write a flying post

Thanks so much for the good wishes--my daughter is doing very well. We just have to keep a close eye on her for complications at this point and make sure she's getting nothing but rest and hydration!

We are on day three of our nor'easter, but the winds have died quite a bit and the rain is much lighter--the end is in sight at last, thank heaven. Between the storm and the swine, it's been a very strange week where I've been living an odd, hermetic sort of life. I haven't been out of the house at all since last weekend, except for a quick trip to the doctor on Wednesday, and I think I have forgotten how to drive and speak to people! But nesting has been the best thing for us, so I have in turn made the best of it. We've burned pumpkin candles and watched Lifetime movies and thumbed through Nigella books and eaten lots of things with cinnamon and drunk endless cups of tea. In the end, the week has been oddly comforting, and probably a good break before I start the last great push of revisions.

So, happy weekend, readers--and your good thoughts have been much appreciated!

So glad to hear that she's doing better. My daughter has asthma so I am very concerned about her getting the swine flu.

Have a wonderful weekend, Deanna!

Have her stay quiet for one extra day after she starts feeling better. I didn't, and made myself susceptible to more of the crud.....(different type of crud, but crud anyway)

A "nor'easter"? Sounds like something out of Moby Dick. I saw pictures of it on the TV news and it looked like a mini huricane. Wind scares me. I hope that you didn't lose power or trees.

I'm so glad your daughter is doing better! The Swine Flu is definitely the worst to have! Though, I haven't had it, and I don't want to jinx myself. But nonetheless, I'm glad she's doing better! You're lucky you have rain! We've been getting snow these last couple days...I hate the snow, 'cause it's too cold.

I know--I thought they were joking the first time I heard them forecast a nor'easter! Where I come from, the scariest thing to blow through is a tornado. This particular nor'easter was the worst storm since the hurricane that hit here six years ago. We had gusts around 50mph, but no trees down.

Absolutely, the girlchild is getting loads of rest. I am famous for relapsing, so I'm making extra sure that she's quiet! Hope y'all stay healthy.
