In which I am sharing a secret

Alright, I really don't want to do this, but I am giving you the link to the most DIVINE Etsy store imaginable. I love every single thing that Persephone Plus has to offer--literally there is not one thing I wouldn't wear. I am ashamed to say I didn't share the link until AFTER I bought my extraordinary Gypsy fortuneteller earrings. (I also crave the Poe/Virginia earrings, the Anne Boleyns, the Theda Bara, the Corpse Bride necklace...I warned you.) Anyway, if you like the offbeat and elegantly eclectic, this is absolutely the place for you. My first impulse was to keep all the gorgeous to myself, but this stuff deserves to be SEEN. Enjoy!

Side note: my darling daughter has the swine flu, so while I hope to keep to my regular schedule of bloggery, posting may be sporadic. Hope the rest of you keep well!

How adorable! Unfortunately I cannot pull off long earrings. I just laughed myself silly when the designer referred to Marie Antoinette as her "favorite little nincompoop" in her description of a pair of earrings!!

What a way to start the day. May we declare 'nincompoop' as the word of the day?

Oh my ... what a wonderful, delectable site! I can totally understand why you would want to keep it to yourself ^_^ but thank you for sharing.

In the meantime, don't you dare worry about blogging ... take care of your girl without another thought! We certainly do understand ...

Hello Deanna
I hope your daughter feels better. I work in public health, so I know all about the swine flu, although I have been lucky enough not to get it. Did you see this article on men's fashions from the 1890s coming back into style in the NYT? I thought you would enjoy. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/12/fashion/12CODES.html?_r=1&8dpc

Sending "healthy" vibes your way. Absolutely minimize your day and get in lots of snuggle time. You have my prayers for a speedy recovery for your little one.

Ugh! I swore I wasn't going to buy myself anything until Christmas! I want that Tudor necklace and earring set so badly!

Thanks for the heads-up to the website, but darn you for leading me into temptation! :)

Best wishes to your girl-child!

I haven't been to the site yet, but I can sympathize with your daughter's plight. My daughter also has swine flu. She got sick on Monday, and it's really tough with her away at school, even though she's only 3 hours away. Campus health center also tested her for mono, but fortunately that came back negative. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she's doing better--no more fever, although her throat still hurts. I hope your daughter feels better soon, and that you and the rest of your family stay healthy.

Hope you are all cuddled up before the fire and getting well soon.
As a teacher, I have seen it all first-hand: a quarter of my little 4th graders absent, the signs another one is going down, the "coughing their toes up" song. Then, of course, the playing catch-up right at the end of a marking period-report cards wait for no-one. ;(
DD, newly married and living in another state, teaches at a college, DS-i-L in a high school......he's been teaching 5 years, this is her first, and she went down with it last week. He must have built-up immunity.
If you are Esty-browsing for your quiet recreation, may I recommend gales designs for another elegant site? (NO financial connection for me-just really pretty jewelry)
