In which I am not entirely certain I can blog today

Because I am gutted to find that evil lurks within the heart of a goldendoodle.

Deacon puts his own spin on "dog-eared" books.

Oh no! Time to re-puppy-proof. I know it's little consolation, but at least he has good taste...

Evil lurks in all dogs, Deanna. We have a Dachshund named Daisy. Well, a few days ago that little heifer JUMPED on our bed, which is VERY high up mind you, and demolished an entire bag of mints my husband left there. We thought they were safe because Daisy is so small and we never imagined she could get to them. Oh, were we wrong! You should have seen the state of our bed! Nasty, sticky candy and dog saliva everywhere. Who knew that little cow could jump so high! But a book? That's sacrilege!

Oh no!!

At least with dogs, you can be pretty sure it's not a pre-meditated act of revenge. My cats did not adjust well to first meeting my then-boyfriend-now hubbs. We actually caught one kitty under the Christmas tree in mid-squat over his gifts. How they could tell his gifts from mine, I'll never know!

No matter how many chew toys you buy them they always prefers mom's stuff better. I have a couple of chewed books myself along with a chewed pair of shoes. Just when you think your "stuff" is safe they get the urge to chew. But he is so sweet and precious looking. Not evil. Just a puppy. Albeit a BIG puppy.

It could have been those fabulous peacock-colored shoes....hope that wasn't a library book!

Oh my! Harvard (my mini-schnauzer) LOVES old books. It must be the lovely smells of all the people who have handled and loved the book. He has wonderful "taste" in books. He chewed on an $80 copy of 'Evangeline' by Longfellow on the husband and teenagers watch.

Maybe he thought that the romance of British Colonial Style was "yummy?" That's cute, though! My dogs chewed on barbies and the plastic ends of shoe laces. Once my dog Lady chewed on a lyric booklet from a CD of mine.

Ouch. I feel your pain! It's experiences like this that make me realize how thankful I am that my Labrador-Weimaraner just turned two years old a week ago. Sophie still likes to chew, but doesn't get into the trouble that she used to as a younger pup!
